Breeding Program on Display at Open Day

It was a pleasure to open our gates to share our breeding program last week with visitors, clients, stock agents, Breed Society staff and neighbours. Most Northern Beef Week Open Days are entirely focused on sale bulls and prospective clients. At Swanvale Herefords we prefer to share the whole picture from a breeding perspective.

We use this day as an opportunity to showcase our female breeding herd, yearling bulls and heifers, as well as our sale bulls heading to Glen Innes Hereford Bull Sale on 22-23 July 2021. We are proud of the genetic progress we continue to develop within our breeding program. High-quality semen and sires are introduced each year for desired results.

Our breeding females are run under commercial conditions and culled if they do not produce a live calf to weaning every year, in order to maintain our high-fertility traits. Our female stock are also bred for great udder and teat conformation.

Thank you to all that popped in to say hello and view our herd on display during Northern Beef Week.
