Welcome to Swanvale Hereford Stud

Swanvale Herefords is family owned and operated by Peter, Karen & Glen Weller and located on the North West Slopes about 30km west of Tamworth NSW.

Our enterprise is focused on breeding both horned and polled Hereford cattle with a quiet temperament, good weight for age, carcase and maternal traits.  Our fundamental aim is to produce soft easy-doing cattle with structural soundness and long deep-bodied cattle with plenty of thickness.  We also focus on producing cattle to perform well on grass, to ensure that they will perform well in any herd under any conditions.

As 3rd generation Hereford breeders, our primary focus for the last 25 years has been breeding commercial Hereford cattle with the introduction of stud females purchased from the Courallie dispersal in 2005.  Since then females have been sourced from Emu Holes, Raby, Dundee, Cara Park, Tycolah and recently we have introduced more polled genetics from Waratah, Kidman, Courallie, Wirruna & Wararba Park.

Our most recent horned resident sires are from Cara Park, Courallie J, Thornleigh, Ironbark & Sugarloaf and polled sires from Kidman, Elite & Wirruna.  To compliment our resident stud sires, we also implement an Artificial Insemination (AI) Program each year, using quality AI sires for continued genetic progress.

The welfare of our animals is at the core of our operation in our breeding and animal health programs.  Our farm also operates under farm biosecurity principles.
